Public Transit
Metro Transit operates our public transportation system in the Twin Cities. We've got buses and a light rail line that goes from the Mall of America to Downtown. Along the way it stops at the Airport and a few feet from the Grease Pit's doors. Rides are $1.75 and increase to $2.25 from 6 to 9 am and 3 to 6:30 pm on weekdays.

-From the airport
There are Light Rail Transit stations in both terminals at MSP International Airport. They are clearly marked. Board your train going to Downtown Minneapolis. Do not go to the Mall of America. Relax, we're close to the end of the line. Exit the train at the Cedar/Riverside station. With downtown on your left, you'll see a bike path and a brick building in front of you. That building is the Bedlam Theatre. Cross the bike path and go up the stairs to the patio, you are at the Grease Pit.

-Amtrak
The Amtrak station is in an industrial corner of St. Paul, but it's not as remote as it seems. After leaving the station, walk south to University Ave. There is a bus shelter on the corner. Catch it westbound to Minneapolis. Get off the bus at Cedar Avenue and head south. The skyline should be on your right. After crossing the bridge, continue for 3 blocks to S. 6th St. Turn right on 6th and continue for almost 2 blocks. On your left is the Bedlam Theatre, the Grease Pit, and the parking lot. You're here.

-From the downtown Minneapolis Greyhound Station
Step outside the station. You should be on Hawthorne Ave. If you look to your left and see First Avenue (the club from Purple Rain) on the other side of the block as you, you are oriented correctly. As you begin walking northeast towards the arena, Hawthorne Ave. will become 1st Ave N. Continue moving northeast on 1st Ave N. until you reach the Light Rail station at 5th St. N. Turn right and get on the platform to wait for your train. Exit at the Cedar/Riverside station, it will be the 4th stop. With downtown on your left, you'll see a bike path and a brick building in front of you. That building is the Bedlam Theatre. Cross the bike path and go up the stairs to the patio, you are at the Grease Pit.
